In past 20 years, the orchestra has fulfilled its goals of becoming one of Asia's leading symphonies and a globally celebrated musical outfit. The world's most influential classical music magazine, Gramophone, listed CPO among the "top 10 most inspiring orchestras" in 2009.

The five musicians were born in the same year as the orchestra. Violinists Yu Mingyue and Lin Ruifeng, cellist Ouyang Nana, pianist Ju Xiaofu and countertenor Liu Shen have all been active on the stage worldwide.

Yu said he saw bright future from these young musicians and hoped they would become next generations Lang Lang, Wang Jian and Yo-yo Ma.
