A cross-border medical platform was launched in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Friday to step up medical cooperation and exchanges between China and ASEAN countries.

The China-ASEAN Cross-Border Medical Cooperation Platform was developed by First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University, Microsoft, Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics Co and China UnionPay.

The one-stop platform in eight languages, including Chinese, English, Thai and Vietnamese, will make full-life-cycle medical services accessible to patients from ASEAN countries, bringing benefits for people's health and well-being.

The platform will also provide medical financing services covering 96 countries and regions, making it more convenient for patients from ASEAN countries to pay medical bills.

In the ceremony to launch the platform, the consuls general of six ASEAN countries extended warm congratulations.

"I do believe this platform will contribute to enhanced healthcare cooperation and enrich the friendship between ASEAN countries and China," said Hoang Ngoc Vinh, consul general at the Vietnamese consulate in Nanning. "I hope the China-ASEAN Cross-border Medical Cooperation Platform will develop
extensively and become an effective medical care communication center for community health."

Lin Jiaru in Nanning contributed to the story.
