Premier to attend economic forum
Premier Li Keqiang will speak at a videoconference with global business leaders held by the World Economic Forum on Tuesday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said on Friday. Li will also hold exchanges with entrepreneurs during the online session, he said. The forum holds its Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos Forum, in China each year. The meeting was rescheduled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nine workers trapped as tunnel collapses
Nine workers have been trapped after a tunnel under construction collapsed in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. The accident happened at around 6 pm on Thursday in the county of Leye, when rocks suddenly fell from the top of the tunnel, according to the local publicity authority. Police, firefighters, medical and emergency staff have rushed to the scene to conduct rescue work.

Police bust gang selling fake cigarettes
Police have busted a gang in connection with more than 250 million yuan ($36.6 million) in fake cigarettes in Yunnan province. More than 40 suspects were involved. Police confiscated more than 60,000 cartons of fake and low-quality cigarettes manufactured in Myanmar and smuggled into Yunnan to sell across the country.
