Inner Mongolia pledges $58.7m for dairy sector
North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region will invest 400 million yuan ($58.7 million) to promote the development of the dairy industry, according to the regional department of agriculture and animal husbandry. The region will provide full coverage subsidies for high-quality forage for dairy livestock to improve its supply capacity and quality. Subsidies will be issued for the collection and storage of whole-plant silage corn, alfalfa hay, and oats in dairy livestock farms.
456m railway trips made in July, August
A total of 456 million railway trips were made in China from July 1 to Aug 31, the latest data from the national railway operator showed. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the number is below the 735 million railway trips registered in the same period last year. Passenger flows, however, have been growing as 249 million railway trips were made in August, an increase of 42.5 million compared to July, according to China State Railway Group Co Ltd.
