Insurers post higher premium income
Chinese insurers' premium income increased by 7 percent on a yearly basis to 3 trillion yuan ($437.29 billion) during the first seven months of the year, official data showed. Compensation expenses totaled 747.9 billion yuan in the period, up 3.1 percent from the same period last year, according to data released by the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission. By the end of July, total assets of the insurance industry stood at 22.06 trillion yuan.
Guangxi's FTZ has 10,561 companies
The number of newly registered enterprises in the pilot free trade zone of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has reached 10,561 over the past year, the FTZ said on Monday. Among the newly registered enterprises are 85 foreign-funded enterprises, with actualized use of foreign investment of more than $140 million. The FTZ focuses on modern financial services, smart logistics, the digital economy, emerging manufacturing industries, port shipping logistics, international trade, components of new energy vehicles and cross-border tourism.
