Didi Chuxing, China's largest ride-hailing platform, announced that the peak global daily orders on the company's platform have surpassed 50 million for the first time, reflecting revival of consumption and economic recovery.

The announcement came as the Beijing-based company said it has officially rolled out car-hailing services in Russia, as it ramps up push to expand overseas presence, despite negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cheng Wei, CEO of Didi, said earlier this year that the company wanted to achieve 100 million global orders per day and accumulate 800 million monthly active users across the world in three years.

Didi said on Wednesday that it has launched its Didi Express service in southwestern Kazan, the capital and largest city of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, home to the country's largest IT park.

The move makes Russia the latest stop on Didi's global roadmap as it aspires to take on global leader Uber.
