Clients wooed by combination of price reductions and quality services

Price reductions and quality services are being offered to attract tourists during the summer vacation season, according to a recent report by major online travel agency Trip.com Group.
More than 4,000 travel agencies are offering about 100,000 products on Trip.com, nearly double the number before interprovincial group tours resumed last month.
The agency's data show there are three major types of tourists: young people, such as employees born in the 1990s and university students; those traveling with children; and the elderly.
Some 27 percent of cross-provincial visitors are in the 19-to-30 age group, 23 percent are ages 31 to 45, and 22 percent ages 46 to 60.
Traditional group tours remain the most popular choice for visitors-with about 70 percent choosing them, while 30 percent travel independently.
To enjoy more privacy, visitors prefer to tour in small numbers, with such groups averaging three to five people. Travel agencies are also organizing group tours for 10 to 20 clients to meet market demand.
Some tourists are willing to pay more for a better travel experience, for example by opting for better-quality accommodations.
The top 10 provincial destinations are: Sanya, Hainan province; Kunming and Lijiang, Yunnan province; Zhangjiajie, Hunan province; Guiyang, Guizhou province; Chongqing; Xining, Qinghai province; Xi'an, Shaanxi province; Chengdu and Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan province.
Gansu, Shanxi and Zhejiang provinces have seen the biggest rises in tourist visits, while people from Beijing, Shanghai and provinces of Hubei, Jiangsu and Sichuan are those most willing to travel, according to the Trip.com report.
