The more than 400 Walmart stores in China have been integrated into JD Daojia, the on-demand retail platform of Dada Group, becoming the first retailer with 100 percent of its brick-and-mortar stores launching there.

Walmart also set a record for single-day sales on JD Daojia on August 8, which is the peak day of the Aug 8 Omni-channel Shopping Festival. Fresh foods, dairy products and ice creams are the main attractions for this year's festival. Facial tissues, vitamin drinks and pure milk are also popular products.

Walmart has launched a shopping livestreaming event at JD Daojia's broadcasting room on Aug 8. During the livestream, more than 300,000 consumers joined in, and some received orders placed from JDDJ's broadcasting room only 14 minutes after the event started.

Since Dada Group and Walmart reached a strategic cooperation partnership in 2016, Walmart has supported JD Daojia's business expansion to first- and low-tier cities. JD Daojia and Dada Now, on the other hand, help strengthen Walmart's omni-channel strategy and provide a more convenient shopping experience to customers.

"Dada Group and Walmart are close partners," said Philip Kuai, founder, chairman and CEO of Dada Group. "Through complementary advantages and cooperation with Walmart, we bring convenient shopping experience and one-hour home delivery services to our consumers, making O2O more popular across the country. In the future, we look forward to continuing our collaboration with Walmart."
