The Children's Eid Festival, co-sponsored by the Wellington City Government, Wellington Library and supported by the Wellington Multicultural Council, was held at Linden Community Centre on Aug 8.

James Shaw, New Zealand's Climate Change Minister and Lexy Seedhouse, senior adviser at the New Zealand Office of Ethnic Communities, attended the event with other guests.

The China Cultural Center in Wellington brought Chinese dance and folk music performances to 800 audience members, and set up a workshop of traditional Chinese paper craft to celebrate the festival with local Muslim children.
