Tianjin private enterprises add development drivers in poverty alleviation efforts

Tianjin private enterprises are being encouraged to hunt for potential and take advantage of opportunities in impoverished villages in less developed interior regions, such as Qinghai and Hebei provinces, as part of national anti-poverty efforts.
In 2019, the port city’s enterprises built material bases and processing factories in over 1,400 poverty-stricken villages in Gansu and Hebei provinces to bolster local industries. They have since played a role in raising productivity efficiency in those areas and have established sales channels with Tianjin’s market and online platforms, increasing revenues for local residents.
This year, even more enterprises have been involved in the campaign in order to cover villages in more needy provinces and cities, such as Qinghai province and Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
Officers of the Tianjin federation of industry and commerce have conducted in-depth research in those villages in order to match them with the best possible enterprises, and achieve win-win results for both parties.
By July, a total of 2,200 private enterprises had cumulatively invested over 200 million yuan($28.78 million) in 2,900 impoverished villages in those areas.
