BEIJING -- Prices of farm produce in China saw a slight increase last week, data from the Ministry of Commerce showed Wednesday.

From July 20 to 26, the overall price of farm produce went up 0.1 percent on a weekly basis.

In breakdown, the wholesale price of pork, a staple meat in China, edged down 0.2 percent to 48.42 yuan ($6.9) per kg, while that of eggs rose 5.5 percent.

The average wholesale price of 30 types of vegetables stayed unchanged from a week earlier, while that of six types of fruits fell 0.6 percent, the data showed.

Food accounts for about one-third of China's consumer price index, a main gauge of inflation.
