Shanghai crude oil futures open lower

SHANGHAI -- Crude oil futures opened lower Wednesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai International Energy Exchange.
The most active crude oil contract for September 2020 delivery was down 0.8 yuan (about 11 cents) to open at 290.6 yuan a barrel.
China launched the crude oil futures trading, which is open to overseas investors, in March 2018.
