Foreign trade grows by 8% in Hebei
Foreign trade in North China's Hebei province rose by 8 percent on a yearly basis to 192.45 billion yuan ($27.45 billion) during the first six months of this year, the provincial department of commerce said on Thursday. Exports during the first six months totaled 110.27 billion yuan, up 1.7 percent on a yearly basis, while imports surged 18 percent to 82.18 billion yuan.
Miss Fresh receives $495m funding
Online fresh food start-up Miss Fresh said it has raised $495 million in its latest round of fundraising from a group of investors led by CICC Capital. The fundraising, said to be the largest in the online fresh food sector, had other investors like ICBC International, Tencent Holdings Ltd, Suzhou Changshu government industry fund and a Goldman Sachs fund.
Iron ore imports via Tianjin port up 13.6%
Iron ore imports via Tianjin port rose 13.6 percent on a yearly basis to around 37.86 million metric tons during the first half of this year, according to Tianjin Customs. Higher raw material demand and strict environmental protection requirements fueled growth in imports, it said.
