BAIC Rocar, a subsidiary of BAIC Group, saw its ranking move up to the 11th position on the 2020 list of China's top 100 dealers, which was released on Thursday.

The list, compiled by the China Automobile Dealership Association, is one of the most important indicators of the country's auto market. BAIC Rocar ranked 14th on the list in 2018.

BAIC Rocar had a successful year in 2019. It an operating revenue of 38.15 billion yuan($5.33 billion), contributing to BAIC Group's annual goal of 500 billion yuan.

The company's sales of vehicles totaled 61,202 in the year. It is named by the association as one of the most competitive dealer groups in the country.

The company did a good job in the first quarter of 2020, despite the ongoing pandemic. In March, all its 48 dealerships have resumed operations.

Its operating revenue totaled 8.98 billion yuan in the first three months, meeting the company's quarterly target. BAIC Rocar said it will strive to meet the overall goal of this year.

Shen Jinjun, president of the association, said the pandemic has caused a great deal of pressure on dealerships in the country.

"China's economy is transforming itself, and the process depends on the market force. So dealerships must work hard, and those who cannot will have to be forced to leave the market," said Shen.
