The most important lesson that can be learned from the COVID-19 pandemic is that people's lives and health are closely connected with each other's and that all countries are in the same global village, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Sunday.

At a news conference held on the sidelines of the third plenary session of the 13th National People's Congress, Wang said all countries should transcend their differences and work together to overcome the novel coronavirus, instead of political manipulation, seeking benefits at others' expense or ignoring science.
