Police filed 159,000 economic crime cases
Public security organs across China filed and investigated around 159,000 cases of economic crimes last year, recouping over 100 billion yuan ($14 billion) of economic losses, according to the Ministry of Public Security. China has seen rampant economic crime in recent years, with new methods of operation emerging, a ministry official said. Chinese police have cracked down harder on economic crimes including illegal fundraising and tax-related offenses and have intensified the hunt for fugitive economic crime suspects overseas, the official added.
Chang'e 4 survives 500 days on Moon's far side
China's Chang'e 4 probe has survived 500 Earth days on the far side of the moon while conducting a scientific exploration of the virgin territory. The lander and rover of the Chang'e 4 probe have resumed work for the 18th lunar day on the far side of the moon after "sleeping" during the extremely cold night. The rover awoke at 11:53 am on Saturday, and the lander woke up at 3:25 am Sunday (both Beijing time). Both are in normal working order, according to the China National Space Administration's Lunar Exploration and Space Program Center.

6 killed, 20 injured in bus rollover on highway
A bus flipped over on a highway in Sichuan province on Saturday, killing six people on board and injuring 20 others, local authorities said. The accident happened at 12:36 pm when the vehicle, which was heading from Xichang to Chengdu, flipped over after crashing into the highway's central guardrail, Sichuan Provincial Public Security Department said. Among the 36 people on board, two were killed on the spot and four died after being taken to hospital. All the injured are being treated in hospital, including three in severe condition. Further investigation is underway.
