UK to invest more than 250m pounds in developing COVID-19 vaccine

The UK government announced on Sunday that is providing additional funding for research into treating COVID-19.

Speaking at the daily media briefing, Business Secretary Alok Sharma said 84 million pounds will go toward developing a vaccine if trials at Oxford University are successful, and 93 million will be spent on the first UK vaccine manufacturing center, in Harwell.

Despite the heavy investment, Dharma warned, there is still uncertainty about finding a successful vaccine.
