Yao Yao, who is in charge of a studio that performs Sichuan Opera face-changing, has found a new major source of income by setting up a noodle restaurant with his apprentices in Kunming, Southwest China's Yunnan province.

Yao's studio had to cancel their performances due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, they still practice every day while running their restaurant.

In his spare time, Yao also hosts livestreams to share information on the opera with his peers, as well as promote and sell his handcrafted costumes and props. Yao hopes the disease will end as early as possible so he can stand on stage as before.
