Rare earth exports rise by 19.2% last month
China's rare earth exports increased by 19.2 percent on a yearly basis to 5,551 metric tons in March, according to data from the General Administration of Customs. During the first three months of this year, China exported 11,041 tons of rare earths, down 2.3 percent from the same period last year, according to the data. China is one of the world's major suppliers of rare earths, a group of 17 elements that are widely used in high-tech products.
Alcohol firms in high spirits as revenue up
Chinese alcohol makers raked in total revenue of 835.07 billion yuan ($120.57 billion) in 2019, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The reading was up 6.8 percent on a yearly basis, data from the ministry showed. The profits of 2,129 alcohol enterprises with an annual business turnover of at least 20 million yuan grew 12.8 percent year-on-year to 161.17 billion yuan last year.
China bonds reach $748.8 billion in March
The value of bonds issued in China totaled 5.3 trillion yuan ($748.6 billion) in March, data from the central bank showed. Treasury bond issuances amounted to 370 billion yuan, while local government bond issuance was worth 387.5 billion yuan.
