China will help its exporters in the electronics, automobile and agricultural sectors to deliver orders on time and resume production in an efficient manner, said the head of the country's top foreign trade and investment promotion agency.

Gao Yan, chairwoman of the China Council for the Promotion of Trade, said the organization will support domestic manufacturers ship more medical equipment, protective goods and high-tech portable products to overseas markets battered by the COVID-19 outbreak.

The council will continue to organize online and offline business events, as well as international cooperation, to assist domestic manufacturers that are having troubles restoring their industrial and supply chains, and to seek foreign suppliers to relieve the pressure caused by the virus, she noted.

"We believe the epidemic impact on the Chinese economy is short-term, external, and controllable. China has huge market, abundant human resources, a complete industries system and well-developed infrastructure facilities. Its economic growth is backed by tremendous resilience and vitality," she said.

The nation's long-term economic fundamentals and developing trend will not change, she said, adding foreign investors' investment confidence and market expectation in China will not change in the long-term run.
