Russia's Saint Petersburg was the city with the highest return on foreign property investment in 2019, with the return on investment (including annual increase in housing prices, rental yield and exchange rate change rate) reaching 31.1 percent, according to Hurun's latest China HNWI global property ROI.
Hokkaido and Budapest took 2nd and 3rd, with the ROI at 24.8 percent and 23.8 percent, respectively.
Among the 50 cities on the list, 10 cities are in the US, a decline from 13 in the same period in 2018, followed by the UK with seven and Canada with five.
Moreover, Hokkaido, Houston and Chicago ranked as the top three cities for rental yields in 2019, with the figures at 9.4 percent, 8.3 percent and 7.5 percent, respectively.
