Artworks and recordings carry strength and solidarity to Tianjin

As the coronavirus outbreak continues, performances by artists around the world pour into Tianjin.
Videos sent by artists to Tianjin Grand Theater convey blessings and strength, and are helping keep people’s spirits up amid the epidemic.
A performance devoted to China and its front-line medical staff was recorded in Czechia. Musicians of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra performed "Jasmine" to cheer Chinese medical staff, busy fighting against the epidemic thousands of miles away.
The Vienna Wiener Symphoniker also sent a video greeting. The general manager of the symphony orchestra, Jan Nast, said: "The music in the video selected from the last chapter of the Beethoven 'Pastoral' symphony foretells that everything will be fine after the storm."
Conductor Daniel Barenboim of the Staatskapelle Berlin is also following China's epidemic and conveys his hope that China will survive the difficult times and he will be able to bring more wonderful music to Chinese audiences.
In addition, global artists including cellist Steven Isserlis, violinist Renaud Capucon, violinist Pinchas Zukerman, Anneleen Lenaerts, chief harpist of Wiener Philharmoniker, Stefan Dohr, principal horn player of Berliner Philharmoniker, the King's Singers, and French cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras have all sent blessings to Tianjin.
During the epidemic, nearly 40 theaters, including Tianjin Grand Theater, have launched a number of online activities and performances covering music and drama, dance, opera, and children's play to enrich life for people confined at home.
