China Eastern Airlines on Wednesday launched an aviation company to operate the nation's homegrown aircrafts such as the ARJ21 and the C919.

Called OTT Airlines, the newly established carrier will operate a mix of Chinese manufactured commercial aircrafts as well as corporate jets to serve demand from the Yangtze River Delta region and beyond, according to China Eastern.

Shanghai-based China Eastern would be the first among global airlines to be delivered the single-aisle C919 passenger aircraft. On August 30, 2019, China Eastern and Commercial Aircraft Corp of China (COMAC) signed an agreement to purchase the latter's regional aircraft ARJ21.

The collaboration between China Eastern and COMAC is aimed at promoting the commercial operation of aircraft developed in China.
