SF Airlines sends flights to stricken regions

SF Airlines, China's leading air cargo carrier, has sent a total of 107 flights carrying emergency supplies to support the regions hit by the novel coronavirus, the airline said. From Jan 24 to Feb 19, flights of SF Airlines carried a total of 2,682 metric tons of medical and other emergency supplies to help in the anti-epidemic fight, it said. As part of these efforts, 100 flights with 2,483 tons of emergency supplies were rushed to support Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, in Central China's Hubei province. Besides medical supplies such as protective suits and masks, food and other daily necessities were aboard the flights.

Foreign companies sign up for 3rd CIIE

Companies from around the world are actively signing up for the 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE) through non-contact means amid the novel coronavirus epidemic, the CIIE bureau said. Located inside the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, the CIIE bureau was closed to the public due to the outbreak, so preparation for the 3rd CIIE was conducted via non-contact means such as phone calls, emails and video calls.

China a major investor in the Philippines

China has become the second largest foreign investor in the Philippines in 2019 after Singapore, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said. PSA data showed that China's investment in the Philippines in 2019 increased by 74.9 percent, reaching 88.7 billion pesos ($1.75 billion). According to the PSA, Singapore is the biggest foreign investor in the Philippines in 2019 with 176.4 billion pesos worth of investments and South Korea is the third-largest with 41.5 billion pesos in investment.
