Dozens hurt in clash at top university
Nearly 30 students were hurt at a prestigious Indian university on Sunday in what police said were clashes between rival student groups but which an opposition politician blamed on a student organization linked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. Unverified videos on social media appeared to show a group of several masked attackers roaming the Jawaharlal Nehru University campus in New Delhi wielding batons as students screamed. The incident is the latest in a series of violent clashes that have killed at least two dozen people amid protests over a controversial new citizenship law Modi's government passed in December.

Netanyahu lets slip nuclear power status
In an apparent slip of the tongue on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described Israel as a nuclear power before correcting himself with a bashful nod and an embarrassed smile. Israel is widely believed to have an atomic arsenal but has never confirmed or denied that it has nuclear weapons, maintaining a so-called policy of ambiguity on the issue for decades. Netanyahu stumbled at the weekly Cabinet meeting while reading in Hebrew prepared remarks on a deal with Greece and Cyprus on an undersea gas pipeline. "The significance of this project is that we are turning Israel into a nuclear power," he said, before quickly correcting himself to say "energy power". He then paused for a beat, acknowledging his mistake with a smile, and then plowed on with his comments.

Weinstein sex crimes trial set to open
Harvey Weinstein's high-profile sex crimes trial was expected to open on Monday, more than two years after a slew of allegations against the once mighty Hollywood producer triggered the #MeToo movement that led to the downfall of dozens of powerful men. The disgraced movie mogul faces life in prison if convicted in a New York state court of predatory sexual assault charges, in a trial expected to last six weeks. Almost 90 women, including Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow, have accused the 67-year-old of sexual misconduct since The New York Times detailed claims against him in October 2017.
5 dead, 60 hospitalized in Pennsylvania crash
Five people were killed and about 60 were injured on the Pennsylvania Turnpike on Sunday morning, when a bus went out of control on a hill and rolled over, setting off a chain reaction that involved three tractor-trailers and a passenger car. The injured victims, ranging from 7 to 67 years old, are all expected to survive, though two patients remain in critical condition, authorities and hospital officials said on Sunday afternoon. The crash, which happened at 3:40 am on a mountainous and rural stretch of the interstate highway about 50 kilometers east of Pittsburgh, shut down the lanes in both directions for several hours before they reopened on Sunday evening.
