NEW APPOINTMENT
Alexander Paul has been appointed general manager of Fairmont Beijing, in charge of the hotel's operations and management.
GRAND OPENING
Fairmont Wuhan, the latest addition to the luxury brand's family, opened in the capital of Hubei province last week. The new hotel is situated in Wuhan's central business district, adjacent to an expansive shopping mall and encircled by high-end residential buildings. It is a 30-minute drive to Wuhan Tianhe International Airport and five minutes to Hankou Railway Station.
CULINARY DELIGHTS
The Peninsula Beijing celebrates upcoming Chinese New Year with curated culinary experiences. During the festival season, guests are invited to share authentic Spring Festival feasts and reunion dinners at Huang Ting Chinese restaurant and a Chinese New Year weekend brunch in the hotel's lobby. TOURIST TRAIN
A tourist train was launched on Monday, offering views across the vast expanses of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Xinhua News Agency reported. The train, named after the city of Hulunbuir, runs for four days from Hailar district in the city to Manzhouli. It offers passengers views of grasslands, mountains and lakes. There are 10 themed carriages including a children's zone and a restaurant car. The business carriage is equipped with beds, televisions and private bathrooms. The train is scheduled to run 53 trips a year. Tickets are expected to be available for online purchase from January.
