Candidates for the 2019 Chinese buzzwords have been released, with "love", "stability", "my people and my country", "5G" and "blockchain" on the shortlist. Society: Shandong bridge wins major prize

As the world's first curved glass bridge without cables, Tanxishan Glass Bridge in Zibo, Shandong province, topped the Structural Awards 2019 for Pedestrian Bridges. The 2.45-meter-wide bridge deck spans 117 meters in length, with a suspended height of 101 meters. Its maximum load capacity is 3.5 metric tons per square meter. Designed by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tongji University, the bridge adopts the installation method of a rotating bridge deck and arch frame through 3D laser scanning and positioning technology.
