China's annual box office revenue crosses mark of 60b yuan for 2nd time

BEIJING - The total box office revenue of all films screened on the Chinese mainland in 2019 has crossed the mark of 60 billion yuan ($8.53 billion), according to figures from the China Movie Data Information Network.

This marks the second time that the annual China box office revenue has surpassed 60 billion yuan.

Data as of Tuesday showed the 2019 China box office revenue reached 60.44 billion yuan.

The total China box office revenue was 60.70 billion yuan in 2018.
