Messi sets record by winning sixth Ballon d'Or

The Argentine had won the FIFA Men's Player of the Year award in September, and he was the top scorer in the Champions League last season with 12 goals before Barcelona were beaten by Liverpool in the semifinals.

The 32-year-old striker also won the European Golden Shoe after scoring 36 goals, won La Liga title with Barcelona, and helped Argentina to get bronze at 2019 Copa America.
