Violence, vandalism continue to roil Hong Kong

The rioters rained bricks and debris on highways and rail tracks, and vandalized the subway stations, paralyzing the traffic.

One of the main road tunnels under the famous Victoria Harbour - Cross-Harbour Tunnel - was forced to close for the entire week. It is yet to open for traffic.

While the universities were forced to end the semester two weeks in advance, students had to flee from their dormitories. Many laboratories in the universities were vandalized and a huge quantity of dangerous chemicals were stolen, posing threat to public safety.
