Company shows new platform in Beijing

Shenzhen-based carmaker BYD held a technology seminar in Beijing on Monday, explaining details of its latest e-platform for new energy vehicles.
The platform for battery electric vehicles boasts such features as independent innovation, high integration and exceptional performance.
It helps to cut vehicles’ weight and improves their efficiency and reliability, said BYD.
For customers, cars built on the platform mean better quality, longer driving ranges and improved safety, said the company.
Among other things, the platform includes the "three-in-one" powertrain and the “three-in-one” power distribution assembly.
The DiLink Intelligent Network System is also a critical part of the platform that is the foundation for the auto company’s battery electric vehicle technology.
The system includes all of the sensors on the vehicle, including the infotainment system, and vehicle lighting systems, to name a few.
BYD said it would like to share the platform with other carmakers, adding that the move will lower development costs of electric vehicles to a level comparable to combustion engine vehicles.
The carmaker said BAIC, Changan and Dongfeng are in talks with BYD about sharing the platform for developing and producing cars.
