To some people, it was the worst disaster to hit the city in over 50 years. For others, it was a chance to take a dip…
On Tuesday, the Italian city of Venice saw its worst flooding since 1966, with water levels reaching as deep as 1.87 meters.
But it did not stop one man from practicing his swimming strokes in St. Mark's Square. So far there have been two deaths due to the flood.
The city's mayor, Luigi Brugnaro, has asked the government for help, and called the crisis “the result of climate change”.
