International Conference of Senior Economic Advisers held to spur local development

The International Senior Economic Adviser Conference of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government was held in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, from Sept 3 to 5 to further share opportunities in the New Era and create high quality local economic growth.

As an important think tank for promoting the economic and social development of Shaanxi Province and an important platform for improving the level of its opening up, the conference aims to promote well-known enterprises at home and abroad to make suggestions, invest in cooperation and publicize Shaanxi on the basis of better understanding it.

A total of 63 consultant units from 13 countries and regions participated in the session, including 36 consultants and 27 consultant representatives.

Among the 36 consultants, there were not only global vice-presidents from Samsung and Micron Technology Inc., but also well-known entrepreneurs from Fuxing and ZTE. There were experts and professors from Peking University, the Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences and other global institutions of higher learning, as well as experts and professors from the World Trade Center Association and the Singapore Bar Association.

In accordance with the national development strategy of the new era and the reality of Shaanxi's development, in addition to holding advisory meetings, the conference also arranged two symposiums on industrial intelligent manufacturing, logistics development and international hub construction in Shaanxi, as well as inspection activities.

Standing at the forefront of world economic development, the consultants and consultant representatives at the conference, with their unique international vision, demonstrated their familiarity with the global economy and their rich experience and outstanding expertise, suggested forward-looking and targeted policies and put forward many professional, constructive and practical suggestions.

Yin Zheng, EVP of Schneider Electric and President of Schneider Electric China, said at the conference that Schneider Electric hopes to make the best use of its professional knowledge and application experience accumulated in the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry to promote the industry’s high-quality development in Shaanxi Province.

“We believe that the integration of IT and OT, digital innovation and traditional industries is an important means of promoting industrial transformation and upgrading. Policy-oriented support and encouragement can further advance this process, while the establishment of a local manufacturing digital core competence development center, and strengthening of personnel training, will provide the Shaanxi economic development belt with more energy," Yin said.

At the meeting, Shaanxi Provincial Governor Liu Guozhong issued letters of engagement for 19 newly recruited consultants, including Batia, Executive Vice President of Global Operations of Micron Technology Inc., and Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD Co., Ltd.
