Autonomous driving startup Pony.ai signs deal with Toyota

Autonomous driving startup Pony.ai signed a partnership agreement with Japanese carmaker Toyota Motor Corp on Monday, in a move to accelerate the development and deployment of autonomous vehicles.

Through the collaboration, the two sides will explore a variety of possibilities to provide safe mobility services for all, Pony.ai said in a press release.

Founded in late 2016, Pony.ai has raised about $300 million as of April 2019 from renowned investors including Sequoia Capital China and IDG Capital.
