Import Expo holds matchmaking session for equipment companies

A pre-expo matchmaking session for equipment exhibitors and buyers of the second China International Import Expo was held in Shanghai on Thursday.
Representatives from 200 companies, including General Electric, Canon Group and ABB attended the session at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
Each exhibitor was paired with two potential buyers at a table in the first half of the session. Attendees were then allowed to discuss potential deals freely in the second half.
According to Liu Fuxue, deputy director of the CIIE Bureau, this was the third matchmaking session held prior to the expo.
"We hope these sessions can help companies strengthen existing connections and discover new opportunities," he said.

Many exhibitors also displayed their products during the matchmaking session and revealed the highlights of their booths.
Chen Gang, chief representative of Italian yacht manufacturer Ferretti Group in Shanghai, said the company will bring a large patrol boat to the expo that is targeted at the maritime authorities.
Bao Wenyan, head of marketing at Jungheinrich Lift Truck Shanghai, said the company will expand its exhibition area and offer solutions for a fully automated warehouse that can help clients cope with the rising cost of human labor in China.
China Railway Group, Xiaomi Technology and many small and medium-sized companies also attended the matchmaking session as buyers.
