Innovation design week to be held in Xi'an

The Silk Road International Innovative Design Week 2019 will be held in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi Province, in early September to further promote industrial structural optimization and upgrading by innovation design.

As an important part of the 2019 Eurasia Economic Forum which will be held in Xi'an at the same time, the event, with the theme of "design links the world and innovation wins the future", is expected to attract more than 2,000 participants in the field of innovation design, including designers and representatives from colleges, institutes and enterprises of the countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The first such event was held at the Eurasian Economic Forum in 2017, and became one of the five new perspectives of the Eurasian Economic Forum that year.

It was the first appearance of "Innovative Design" as an important part of the Eurasian Economic Forum. In the future, the event will be held every two years to promote innovative designs of Xi'an, as well as those of the countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Xi'an will join the event to hold seven professional forums to highlight its rich design resources and innovative advantages.

The event will cover emerging industries such as 3D printing, industrial design, architectural design, artificial intelligence, aerospace and fashion culture with a focus on design empowerment to explore innovative design in enabling industries and promote the coordinated development of discipline, technology and industry chains.

The event will also play an important role of upgrading industrial structure, transforming development modes and participating in the Belt and Road initiative to strengthen the impact of innovative design on urban, economic, cultural and life changes.

By pooling innovative resources at home and abroad, the event will also organize project docking, design exhibitions, project contracting, industrial docking and other activities to build an innovative design ecology and industrial cooperation platform, bridging the gap between supply and demand.
