The Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, which date back 5,300 years, joined the UNESCO World Heritage list on Saturday. During the Liangzhu period, the ancestors began to portray on pottery and jadeware certain symbols, which may represent the origin of primal characters.
