Chinese coal enterprises release CSR performance reports

The China National Coal Association held its annual conference on corporate social responsibility report in Beijing on Sunday on Chinese coal enterprises’ CSR performance.
Peng Jianxun, vice-president of the association, said Chinese coal industry attaches great importance to clean, efficient production and use of coal, to protect the environment and fulfill social responsibilities.
The total number of mines in China has decreased from more than 90,000 to about 5,800 since 70 years ago, while the annual coal output has increased from 32 million tons to about 3.97 tons, he said.
Many coal producers have updated their equipment to create modern and intelligent workplace environment, as well as have largely improved production safety, according to Peng.
However, he said more efforts are needed to further boost enterprise performance and improve clean and efficient production and use of coal.
