Premier Li urges enterprises to carry spirit of professionalism

Premier Li Keqiang has urged enterprises to carry the spirit of professionalism and craftsmanship in creating more Chinese brands.
Li made the remarks in a written instruction for an event marking China Brand Day, which fell on Friday this year, according to a press release issued by the State Council, China's cabinet, on Friday.
Strengthening brand building to promote the growth of advanced manufacturing, as well as the modern service industry, is an important step to meet the demand of consumption upgrading, unleash the domestic market's potential and advance high-quality development, Li said.
He called for increased efforts to deepen supply-side structural reforms and the innovation-driven development strategy.
He further called for advancing the reform of government functions to foster a level-playing field in the market.
Enterprises should be guided to stay committed to good faith and pursue excellence so that more Chinese brands will come to the fore amid fair market competition and consumers' independent choices, Li said.
Both China and the rest of the world will enjoy better Chinese products and services, he said.
China Brand Day has been held May 10 every year since 2017, when the State Council approved its establishment.
From Friday to Sunday, a series of activities celebrating the day will be held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center.
With more than 200 Chinese independent brands involved in the event, independent brands have established 13 consumer goods experience zones in an area covering more than 20,000 square meters at the venue.
