The 3,000-kilometer China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which stretches from Kashgar in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region to the Gwadar Port in Pakistan, serves as a significant channel to facilitate connections in road, rail, gas and optical fiber among countries along the corridor.

The CPEC is a landmark project for China-Pakistan cooperation in the new era and an important pilot project for China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative.

To build the Gwadar Port is a pride for Xu and his colleagues, said Xu.

As the Belt and Road Initiative is being pushed forward, people-to-people exchanges between China and countries along the routes have been on the rise.

Many young people have benefited from friendly exchanges, through which they have acquired know-how, gained life experience and developed friendship and romance.
