China energy production grows steadily

BEIJING - China's energy production maintained stable growth during the first two months of the year, the National Bureau of Statistics said Monday.
Output of liquified petroleum gas rose 7.1 percent year-on-year to 6.43 million tons, while gasoline production increased 5.3 percent to 23.8 million tons.
Fuel output added 2 percent to reach 3.55 million tons during Jan-Feb, and kerosene production climbed 6.2 percent to 7.96 million tons.
However, China saw a fall in diesel output, which decreased to 27.65 million tons.
Monday's data also showed that production of lead and copper reached 923,000 tons and 1.34 million tons, up 32.6 percent and 6.3 percent, respectively.
