Delegation of National Museum of Liverpool visits Shaanxi History Museum

British museologists from the Liverpool National Museum gave a lecture on Jan 9 at Shaanxi History Museum on their efforts to help Alzheimer's patients recover through education activities at the Memory House launched by the British museum.

At the invitation of the Shaanxi History Museum, George Andrew McCluskey, director of the Board of Directors of the National Museum of Liverpool, Louise Elizabeth Parnell, vice-curator of the museum, and Carol Anne Rogers, executive director of Education and Associations are visiting the museum for academic purposes.
More than 200 listeners from museum and cultural circles attended the lecture and learned about the basic situation of the Liverpool National Museum and the story of Memory House, where Alzheimer's patients are helped to recover.
After the lecture, the three British visitors and members of the first Council of the Shaanxi History Museum, as well as other of the museum’s leaders, discussed the issues related to the Sino-British Council-Board System.
Qiang Yue, deputy director of the first Council of Shaanxi History Museum, chaired the discussion and pointed out that the meeting between the two sides in Xi'an was very successful and achieved definite results and consensus.
In November 2016, in order to promote cultural exchanges between China and Britain, the Shaanxi History Museum and the Liverpool National Museum signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the common aspiration of strengthening and developing long-term friendly cooperation.
In May 2018, the Shaanxi History Museum set up a special project entitled "Understanding and Analyzing the Establishment and Operation System of the Board and Board of Directors of Overseas Museums" to further promote cooperation between the two sides.
Qiang said that the Shaanxi History Museum will continue to strengthen international cooperation, enhance international vision, and establish a long-term mechanism with a number of world-class museums for exchange of exhibitions, scientific research and talents. The goal of the Shaanxi History Museum, Qiang said, is to become an internationally renowned first-class institute.
