AI Industry Project Exchange Meeting held in Xi’an

The founding meeting of the Investment and Financing Project Group of the China Artificial Intelligence Industry Development Alliance (AIIA) and the Xi'an Artificial Intelligence Industry Project Exchange Meeting were held from Dec 5 to 6 in Xi'an Innovation and Design Center, Xi’an, capital of Northwest China’s Shaanxi province.

Sponsored by the AIIA, hosted by the management committee of the Innovation Industry Belt Surrounding Universities, and supported by Xi'an Zhongding Artificial Intelligence Research Institute Ltd., the event attracted more than 150 representatives from innovative US Silicon Valley enterprises, top domestic and international AI teams, investment and financing institutions, business incubators, service institutions and local business teams in Xi'an to compete with each other for investors in closed-door meetings.

At the meeting, Jia Zhipeng, vice president of Horizon Robot Technology Research and Development Company, and Wang Tao, president of Xinghuan University of Science and Technology, made keynote speeches entitled "Embedded AI Chips Leading the New Era of Universal Intelligence", and shared the latest achievements, industry applications and industry trends in the field of artificial intelligence.

Five local AI enterprises in Xi'an, such as Shaanxi Cisco Reid Network Security Technology Co., Ltd. and Xi'an Xidian Electrical Research Institute Co., Ltd., put on project roadshows and discussed highlights, demands and cooperation.

Participants agreed that AI is an important driving force for the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial change, and that development opportunities should be grasped through platform sharing, industrial alliance and collaborative innovation.

"Very rewarding! Several investment institutions have come to us to express their willingness to invest,” said Liu Yong, representing Shaanixi Secure Con Technologies (SCT ) Co.,Ltd. Liu hoped that the government will provide more such opportunities and platforms to help enterprises carry out all-round exchanges and cooperation with top resources at home and abroad.

"These projects of road show are very good and have good prospects for development," said Harrison Rose, CEO and founder of TRC from the Silicon Valley. He believes that such exchanges are excellent, allowing top resources in the field of artificial intelligence around the world to collide, integrate and collaborate innovatively.

In 2017, the scale of China's artificial intelligence market was 21.69 billion yuan, and the number of enterprises was 112. In 2018, the market size and the number of enterprises doubled, showing a thriving trend.

Lu Guangwen, head of Beilin District of Xi’an city, said that Beilin District has a deep foundation and potential in artificial intelligence research and industrial development. It will focus on the development of the digital economy industry dominated by artificial intelligence and big data, and build an artificial intelligence base to empower traditional industries.

"Such activities will be held from time to time to establish an industrial ecosphere, turn resources into services, turn services into projects, and truly serve enterprises by means of internationalization, specialization and marketization," said Lin Yuan, director of the Management Committee of the Innovation Industry Belt Surrounding Universities.
