Xi pledges joint efforts with Germany to safeguard multilateralism, open economy

BUENOS AIRES, Dec. 1 -- Chinese President Xi Jinping said here on Saturday that China is ready to make joint efforts with Germany to safeguard multilateralism and an open world economy.

Xi made the remarks when meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the sidelines of the 13th summit of the Group of 20.
