Silk Road Forum set for Dec 7-8 in Paris

The 2018 Silk Road Forum, an annual international meeting to promote the Belt and Road Initiative, will be held in Paris from Dec 7 to 8, the Development Research Center of the State Council, one of the forum's organizers, said during a press conference on Tuesday.
Themed ‘Jointly developing the Belt and Road Initiative for the promotion of global sustainable development’, the forum is expected to attract representatives from different governments, think tanks and enterprises from across the world, as well as responsible members from relevant international organizations and renowned scholars, it said.
In-depth discussions focusing on the open world economy, green and low-carbon development, the new round of technology revolution and tolerant development will be discussed.
According to Wang Yiming, vice president of the Development Research Center of the State Council, the Belt and Road Initiative has gained support from more than 100 countries and regions over the past five years, with significant influence on the mechanism of global economic governance.
The first annual conference of the Silk Road Forum was held in Istanbul in December 2014. More than 200 participants, including 40-plus high-ranking leaders and senior officials from the governments of 13 countries, attended the meeting, exchanging their ideas on the Belt and Road Initiative.
