Service outsourcing industry to open registration for competition

A high-level competition aimed at nurturing innovation in service outsourcing industry is slated to start online registration in November.

The event, named Service Outsourcing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Chinese College Students, is organized by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Commerce and Wuxi municipal government. Outsourcing is a business practice where a company hires another company to perform tasks.

The preliminary contest will be held in next March and April, and the final will take place in May, the organizer announced at the opening ceremony Tuesday.

This competition, in its 10th year, is well positioned to encourage the forging of a more innovative environment and to create a talent pool for high technology companies, said Gu Ming, deputy director of National Human Resources Institute for Service Outsourcing, Tsinghua University.
