E-commerce Law topic of 2-day training in Beijing

Two days of training for more than 200 e-commerce platform operators and members of related industries started in Beijing on Wednesday, with the aim of helping them better understand legal issues in business and improving the industry's development.
The training, which was organized by the China Federation of Internet Societies, will mainly introduce the country's first E-commerce Law.
The law was passed by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress in August and will take effective in January next year. It is "very significant" for the industry, "as it clarifies e-commerce platform operators' responsibilities and highlights trustworthiness in the business," said Ren Xianliang, head of the societies.
He asked all attendees to pay attention to the legal training, learn how to use the law to protect their rights and keep the industry in order.
"We've also invited legislators, industry supervisors and law professionals who specialize in e-commerce developments to explain the law to our trainees," he added.
Wang Ning, head of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the training, saying it could help industry insiders quickly know backgrounds and spotlights in the law, "and then better lead our future work".
