BEIJING - China firmly objects to US arms sales to Taiwan under any pretext, a spokesman said Wednesday at a press conference.
China resolutely opposes any form of official or military contact between Taiwan and the US, said An Fengshan, spokesman with the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office.
An's comment came after the US government informed Congress of its decision to sell weapons worth about $330 million to Taiwan on Tuesday.
"Those who rely on foreigners to build themselves up and undermine the peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait will certainly pay a price for their deeds," he said.
