Police responding to 'serious incident' in UK

LONDON — Police in Britain's South Yorkshire confirmed they are responding to a "serious incident" at a town center Saturday morning.

South Yorkshire police said there is high visibility of police presence in Barnsley town center responding to a serious incident.

Local media said the town center was put on lockdown this morning with terrified shoppers hiding inside stores amid reports of a stabbing.

It was claimed that police officers arrested a woman who had stabbed a man and was roaming around with a "large knife," local media said.
