Contestants' enthusiasm is clear in the works they've submitted to the Made in China national innovation and entrepreneurship public service platform, following the recent kickoff of a contest in Beijing to collect innovative and feasible project ideas aimed at helping Jinghai district in Tianjin boost development.

The finals will be on Sept 6.

The contest calls for participants, either individuals or enterprises, to design projects suitable for the district to carry out in its sectors, such as circular economy, biomedicine, clean energy, high-end equipment, and intelligent manufacturing.

Experts will review and score contestants' works on the online platform and select the top 10 contestants, respectively, among individual and enterprise entries, for the finals.

Li Hongdong, a member of Jinghai district's Party Committee, said the district pays close attention to supporting high-quality development, and he hopes the contest will help attract more enterprises and talent to the district.

The district's Ziya Economic and Technological Development Zone has the largest circular economy industrial zone in North China, and has more than 1,500 enterprises to date, covering sectors, such as recycling and remanufacturing of waste, bicycle and electric bicycle manufacturing, automobile assembly and parts manufacturing, and biomedicine, he said.
